When I was 22, my left testicle grew to the size of a tennis ball. It was excruciatingly painful, but I sucked it up. A “real man” wouldn’t whine about his pain, especially when it’s where it hurts the most: his manhood. However, I could only hold out for so long and two weeks later I sought help. After consultations, medical scans, and going under the knife, I was post-surgically diagnosed with stage 3 testicular cancer. My urologist/surgeon took out a non-seminomatous germ cell tumor that weighed approximately 180 grams. Did he take out more than that?
